I grew up in Minnesota and our family moved every 3-5 years with my dad’s career. My parents came from large, fun, farming families which led to more aunts, uncles, and first cousins than I can count. Since I attended small town schools in MN, I was able to be involved in everything – sports (VB, BB), band, choir… I have 3 sisters, 3 adult children, and 3 grandsons. Our family loves to vacation, houseboat, and enjoy a variety of water and snow sports together. The business keeps our family unusually close. Shirley, David’s mom, moves supplies, documents, and mail daily between locations; Oscar, David’s dad, helps troubleshoot and repair building and equipment issues; Brian, our son, is the general contractor for our buildings, buildouts and remodels, and continually manages IT and automation systems; Dylan, our son, is our IT Project Manager who develops and maintains applications that ensure efficient systems and processes as we grow.

Professional History: For some reason, I decided to join the Air Force Nurse Corps after college. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I enjoyed all 11 years. 

• Wright Patterson Air Force Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio: Inpatient Pediatric Nurse
• UCLA in Los Angeles, California: completed graduate degree in nursing as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist white working as a civilian pediatric nurse to pay off college loans
• Wilford Hall Air Force Medical Center – Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas: Pediatric Nurse Educator and used the GI Bill to earn my Family Nurse Practitioner degree
• University Health System University Hospital in San Antonio, Texas: Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist and University of Texas Health Science Center Medical School Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Pediatrics

The Air Force forced me to learn more than just nursing. I was exposed early in my career to managing and training staff, leadership, teamwork, task forces, program development, systems, accountability, and compliance. Little did I know this would lay the foundation for the family business David started just weeks before we married in 2001. I am currently an owner and the Director of Finance, Compliance, and Credentialing
