Ellen Dees

Dr. Ellen Mackey, PT, DPT, NCS

Area of physical therapy or work with a particular type of patient:  Balance, dizziness, neurological disorders, extremities

Why I became a PT/PTA: When I was in middle school, I experienced recurring back pain while running track and playing volleyball. I was referred to a pediatric physical therapist. During my experience as a patient, I observed skilled therapists improving the function of children with disabilities through what seemed like play to my 10 year old self. This experience peaked my curiosity for learning about how we were made and led to my desire to continue my education as I was fascinated with human performance and how to optimize our function.

Profession History:
• Lott Physical Therapy, 2019-Current

Personal Information: I relocated to the area after growing up in Leander, Texas. I moved to the big city of Purdon to join my husband after living in Abilene for 8 years. My husband and I are establishing our roots on our ranch. Together, we enjoy do it yourself projects, hiking new terrain, working with the youth at our church, and beating each other in card games and dominos.
